ABSTRACT – The renewal of the Church and the Synod about the New Evangelization.
The author, took part as an expert in the last Synod of Bishops on the theme of the new
evangelization, examines the results of this Synod, with reference to the present renewal
of the ordinary pastoral, especially related to the situation of the Italian Church. Such a
reference points out that the effort either for the evangelization or for the renewal of the
pastoral demands to render our pastoral approach gradually more biblical and more catechumenal,
as a reception of the apostolic exhortation Verbum Domini of 2010, that was
a result of the previous Synod, by the universal Church.
