Il testo vuole ricordare due principi che Paolo VI e gli operatori della riforma liturgica dal 1964 al 1978 hanno sempre tenuto presenti: offrire alla Chiesa di rito romano dei nuovi libri liturgici in sostituzione di quelli esistenti, riformati alla luce della tradizione, ma riletta per dare con essi al cristiano del nostro tempo una liturgia unica rispondente al progresso stabilito dal Concilio Vaticano II. L’indagine ripercorre il senso e ruolo delle Costituzioni apostoliche di Paolo VI e di altri suoi caratteristici interventi, e dà i necessari riferimenti per ricercare come anche nelle Istruzioni e Lettere agli episcopati, con accentuazioni diverse, la mens di Paolo VI sia stata attuata.

This article aims to remember two principles that Paul VI and the authors of the liturgical reform from 1964 until 1978 have always taken into consideration: to offer new liturgical books to the Roman rite Church, which were to replace the existing books. The new books should be reformed in the light of the tradition, but this one should be read in order to give with them the Christian people of our time a unique liturgy that corresponds to the progress establishes by the Vatican II Council. This investigation traces the sense and role of the Apostolic Constitutions by Paul VI and of some other characteristic interventions, and gives the necessary references in order to research how the mens of Paul VI has been accomplished also in the Instructions and Letters by the Bishop’s Conferences, however with different accentuations.
