ABSTRACT – The Roman Law in the creation of the Christian society. The pagan society
of the Roman Empire reached very high levels of education. In this society, nevertheless,
there were slavery, murders in public arenas and the deification of man. This dark side of
the pagan society was caused by immorality and by a wrong relationship with God. The
new laws of the Christian emperors introduced Christian ethics that make pagan society
more humane and introduced the principles that are the basis of the modern society.
